A true sanctuary of luxury and relaxation, the atmospheric spa offers an environment of holistic rejuvenation in a stylishly designed contemporary setting influenced by 1930s Shanghai.
Just the thought of the busy streets of Hong Kong makes me tired! So it was straight off a 10-hour plane journey to The Landmark, Mandarin Oriental spa for some needed R&R.
The spa facilities include:
- Nine treatment rooms including two couples’ suites with private vitality pools
- Tea lounge
- Indoor swimming pool with current jet system, video wall, mood lighting, underwater sound system and electrical sunblind
- Chinese herbal steam room
- Jacuzzi (male)
- Tepidarium (female)
- Sauna
- Fitness center
- Spa boutique
I wanted to start the day feeling rejuvenated so instead of a relaxing massage I opted for the 60min express treatment ‘On the run’, which consisted of a 30min hand and arm massage and 30min legs and feet massage. The treatment room is equipped with a comfortable chair and a plasma TV so I got to catch up on my favorite channel Fashion News! At the side of me was a tray of cucumber water and fresh blueberries, what more could a girl as for. I left feeling uplifted and ready to explore the city.
I went back for a second visit before the end of my trip to experience the spa facilities which were very pleasing from jet pool to Chinese herbal steam room, the spa is genuinely quiet so most time you have privacy. The relaxation room is well equipped with healthy snacks, tea choices and flavored water. I experienced a custom full body 60-minute massage and informed the therapist my concerns were back tension, stress and tiredness. The therapist focused on neck and shoulders to help ‘reset’ the body aiding with sleep and night and focus during the day. Together with the inclusion of reflex points in the feet to stimulate the body natural healing process.
The treatment is perfect if you are looking to remove yourself from reality for a short time both physically and mentally.
