A dream came true and I got to visit The Talise Spa at the worlds 7* hotel, Burj Al Arab in Dubai. Lets say my expectations were little high. The spa is located on the 18th floor with panoramic views of the Arabian gulf and at sun down it was breath taking.
Both ladies and gentlemen’s relaxation areas feature an aqua retreat. Separate indoor infinity pools, jacuzzi and treatment rooms overlooking the Arabian Gulf complement the spa, along with saunas, steam rooms and plunge pools. Gentlemen can enjoy the panoramic sauna and steam lounges looking out to the World Islands and Downtown Dubai, both fitted with rare fog-proof glass. Additional facilities include a squash court, a fitness centre with aerobic facilities, advanced cardiovascular and resistance training equipment.
Before the treatment we got to enjoy the pool retreat to relax and take in the beautiful view.
For the treatment I selected the 80-minute Chakra balancing hot stone massage (my first ever hot stone massage) Now the treatment room itself was a little disappointing and small I must say, there was odd furniture and the beds and sheets were uncomfortable. The treatment itself was a warming and relaxing experience and the therapist was excellent.
After the treatment tea is served in where I can only describe as a corridor, a seating area next to the mens changing rooms, not exactly what I expected.
Overall I think the treatment was wonderful but the spa itself could do with a refurb to live up to the grand decoration on the rest of the hotel.
Talise Spa offers treatments from world-renowned houses, such as La Prairie, Sundari and THÉMAÉ, applied by a skilled and caring team of therapists. I would like to visit again and experience a La Prairie facial.
