SALA Samui Spa – Choengmon Beach Resort & Spa, Koi Samui, Thailand.

A well managed blend of relaxation, well-being and equilibrium inspired by tradition and technique.

I have been keen to visit Koi Samui for a very long time and I don’t think we could have chosen a better resort. As soon as you enter the resort your senses are taken over by the tropical aromas of the surrounding herbs and spices and your mind is taken somewhere else in the beauty of the nature. It is the perfect place to unwind and being your journey to relaxation. I was personally impressed by professionalism of the staff from start to finish, there was a slight issue of some noise from maintenance work going on in the resort but the staff offered us a complimentary treatment to accommodate which was very pleasing.

I kick started my vacation and jet lag with an early morning yoga session, which is offered complimentary in an open-air studio with a view of the tranquil sea. The experience was meditating and harmonious. Advanced booking is advised as the classes do fill up.

The spa consists of 4 private indoor treatment rooms with steam rooms and 4 floating massage Salas surrounded by a tropical lotus pond. The tranquility and beauty of the spa automatically put you at ease ready for your treatment.

I opted from more of a traditional treatment the SALA Signature massage, which uses combined techniques of Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Swedish and Balinese styles and is preformed using a special blend of essential coconut oil, which leaves you smelling delicious. The therapist’s gentle and healing hands left me feeling calm, warm and completely relaxed. It is said to promote growth of healthy, new skin cells, ultimately resulting in total relaxation and suppleness of the skin.

There is also the option of having a massage on the private beach but due to weather it was not possible during my visit.
